Read the structured error code first. Retrying without changing the cause can create duplicate work or a quota problem.
Check /mcp for this deployment's connection status. Widget and download capabilities depend on the client; authenticated ChatGPT host acceptance is still pending.
401 / expired or revoked token
Reconnect through the authorized client and review consent. Do not paste a token into a prompt or browser address bar.
403 / scope, plan or ownership
Inspect the exact error: insufficient_scope and plan_required are different cases; a project outside your workspace returns not_found. Browser export needs the explicit renders.create scope. Use connection settings, plan comparison or the correct project as appropriate.
409 / stale revision
Another edit won the race. Read the latest project revision, compare the scene and submit the intended change again with a new request key.
429, 503 or missing widget
429 means wait for the reported rate/quota window. A 503 feature_unavailable means this deployment is not enabled. If tools work but no widget appears, the client may lack MCP Apps support; use the text result and editor link.
